The Exercise “Air crash at Sarajevo International Airport“

On Wednesday, 26.10. 2016, the exercise „Air crash within Sarajevo International Airport“ was held at the firemen's testing range at Sarajevo Airport.
It is a simulated accident of the aircraft B737 with 45 passengers and crew members that crashes within the complex of Sarajevo International Airport, or, more precisely, on the firemen's testing range.
These activities are in compliance with the Emergency Plan and they require participation of employees of Sarajevo International Airport, the Institute for ambulance service of the Sarajevo Canton , the Professional Fire brigade – Airport unit and Stup unit, Police of Sarajevo Canton. BiH Border Police – Airport unit, and BiH Army forces, i.e. the helicopter unit.
Sarajevo International Airport is obliged to conduct this exercise once in two years. Its purpose is to test abilities of the staff and operational level of the Emergency Plan being in force.
The Headquarters of the action evaluated the exercise successful and spoke highly of readiness, coordination and cooperation of all the agencies being involved in the exercise.
